The historic region known as the 'Holy Land', in the Middle East, is well known as the crucible of three great religions, and the stage for heated conflicts between religious and political factions.
The holy land is also of this earth, a natural world where wildlife still clings to existence. The Bible describes a rich diversity of animals that ones thrived here - before a flood of humanity washed most of them away.
Since the 1960's the state of Israel has been building a -Noah's Ark-, a series of more then 150 parks and reserves where some of the animals mentioned in the Bible have been resurrected. In a protected desert oasis called Ein Gedi, where David took refuge after slaying Goliath, the Nubian ibex and the hyrax flourish as they did during Biblical times.
-Lost Worlds of the Holy land- documents the effort of dedicated individuals who believe that a shared concern for wildlife may bring people together, and provide new grounds for peace in this ancient land.
